Hey y'all how are you guys doing? I know we are in the middle of this outbreak but I really just want to come on here and bring a breath of fresh air. It is imperative that you in this moment take two deep breaths, sit up in your chair and picture yourself in a calm environment ,fresh breeze on your face and a nice cold drink in your hand . Sidebar- I am a therapist so it is important I get you to relax on this journey. Okay now that you are a bit more relax , picture in these few minutes, God himself calming your every fear and giving you a well needed mind and body massage.
I don't know how many of you have been following me from the beginning but when this world feels like an episode from the walking dead, I have soooo much peace. I want this to be a peace transfer as you continue reading because I believe that when we have an assurance of something great, it is imperative that we share where our hope comes from. God has answered almost every prayer or concern I have had since I started doing these blogs. Those perilous times has prepared me for such a time as this ,because God came through as healer, deliverer,waymaker,miracle worker etc.
I want to make this post as light as possible and just carry you on the journey of Caleb and Joshua. Not when they were being bosses and telling the Israelites ,oh we could definitely take the land although there were Giants up in there. Lets fast forward to them getting into Cannaan. I love the outdoors hence the idea of living in a garden like Adam and Eve did or even entering a land flowing with milk and honey like the Israelites did really brings me great excitement. The wilderness however. with snakes and scorpions ..not soo much. I believe we are past the wilderness ,(don't look at what's happening in the world).... I believe we are in the Jordan river crossing into the Caanaan also known as the promise land. I know if you are not a bible reader these terms may be bit confusing but journey with me okay.
My boy Caleb and Joshua are getting ready to head into this promise land but they got this huge Jordan river. God told Joshua to tell the people consecrate themselves because he was about to show up and show off. So the next day God ordered that the ark of the covenant which was the presence of God to go before them as they entered this Jordan river.
Joshua 3:4 " Then you will know which way to go since you have never been this way before"
Now this Jordan river was like high y'all. The river was bursting at its banks and they were supposed to cross this river with babies and grannies etc. I mean they did had history with God ,they crossed the Red Sea but I mean sometimes when we come up against another challenge we tend to forget what God did in the past. Joshua however was a real G and followed God's instructions. So as the priest entered the water with the ark of the covenant the water subsided y'all.
Joshua 3: 13" And as soon as the priest who carry the armor the Lord,the lord of all the earth set foot in the Jordan,its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap"
So the people are crossing and its a whole vibe and they could see their promise land before them. The people were crossing over the Jordan on dry ground y'all. Their enemies who by the way are in their promise land could also see them coming and are scared . But those Israelites y'all they are marching ...like finally we here bro!
The Bible doesn't go into much detail about the promise land as they enter but we know it was a promised place that meant God answered their prayers. I don't know about you but that's all I need to know. I AM ALREADY SHOUTING!
What if I told you the moment we are walking in right now is the one when God has stopped the waters of the Jordan and we are crossing over. MAYNE I JUST RAN!!. Can you feel it Nations??? No one can go outside, there are shutdowns ,state of emergencies ... God is holding up the waters for us to cross over on dry land... we are heading into the promise land. Our enemies are trembling because craziness is happening all around us and they think we should be scared but instead God is saying don't be afraid of the waters around you just march into your promise. Mayne this is a word for somebody.I don't know what you have been praying and fasting for , maybe like the Israelites you have been marching around the wilderness for what seemed like forty years but sister /brother.... we can see the promise land now...our enemies can hear the sound of our legs coming to tear his kingdom down . Now is not a time to be struck down by fear. The word of God tells us that the kingdom suffereth violence and the violent taketh by force. Run into your promise land friend RUN!. Don't BE DISTRACTED by what is taking place in the world. Yes it is bad and yes we should definitely pray. This is not the end of the world. This for many of us will be a new beginning , One where we are stepping into the very person God created us to be.
This is the important part. After they got over safely, Joshua commanded the leaders of the tribes to take up a stone and place it I the middle of the Jordan as a memorial to the people of Israel forever. Joshua 4 reminds us that God did this so that all the people of the earth might know that the hand of the lord is powerful and do that we might always fear the lord our God.
Let your posture be one of focus... write that book, send that email, take the course, start the blog/vlog. The waters are being held back for us to take up our mantle and run towards what he has called us to from the beginning.
Most importantly build an altar in this quite time before God. When the Israelites crossed into this new place they had to be circumsiced . None of their old habits or ways could go with them into the new. Let God purifying cleanse us as we move into the new.
